The government of the Netherlands and its citizens have worked side by side for years to tackle the homelessness of dogs and domesticated cats. Laws have been implemented and outreach programs have been successful. While more work needs to be done in terms of feral cats, the Netherlands has made progress as a whole and it’s now known for having no stray dogs. Will the United States be able to follow their example and become a country where no dog or cat will be euthanized due to overcrowding in shelters?
